I Found This Ladder-backed Woodpecker In California

Ladder-backed Woodpecker

They make their nests in trees, or Joshua tree, or agave stalk, or giant cactus, or fence post, or even utility poles, they don’t seem to be very particular… Their range goes from Southern California over through most of Texas then down as far south as Nicaragua! They are very similar to the Nuttall’s Woodpecker and where their ranges overlap, they will sometimes interbreed.
