Island Scrub-Jay
If you want to add this one to your life list, you have to get out to Santa Cruz Island off the coast of Southern California, USA. They haven’t been found anywhere else! Very similar to the Western Scrub-Jay, but they are a bit larger. The species is considered vulnerable due to the small size of the island that they live on, their population is estimated to be around only 2,300! Obviously they are keeping a close watch on these birds and their survival, you can see the different colored bands on the legs from when it was caught and studied.
