Can you see me? I am quietly sitting here on my nest. The Least Tern is a small tern, it will usually hover over the water searching for food, then plunges bill first into the water to catch its prey just below the surface. Unfortunately, this tern is endangered in many areas due to beach-goers who like the beaches where these birds nest. Though many beaches have started to rope off areas for the tern to nest without disruption. So if you happen to see a Least Tern’s nest, stand back, give them plenty of space and enjoy your birding.
