I was extremely lucky to find this lifer in southern Texas, USA!!! As a new birder you should know that most other birders have no problem sharing their information about what birds they have seen, so take advantage of this and ask each birder you see how their day is going and what birds they have seen… I would never have seen this one without other birders telling me where to look, even though if I gone just one foot off the trail I would have stepped on it! A member of the Nightjar family, these birds rest during the day and do most everything else at night. If you are out at dusk or dawn you might be lucky enough to see one of these…
