Vermillion Flycatcher
Flycatchers are usually kind of dull and drab, but not the male Vermillion Flycatcher, he’s very bold and flashy! This one was just coming into his colors, I’ve seen some that are so bright they can be spotted from quite a distance. Not a very big bird at only around 6 inches, this flycatcher usually will be found near water, along streams or at the edges of ponds. Their diet consists entirely on insects, including wasps! They’ll can eat many bees then cough up any indigestible parts later as pellets.
