Birding in Florida does have its challenges! I’ve been to Orlando Wetlands Park a couple of times and each time I’ve had to change my plans a bit due to alligators sunning themselves up on the path. This one was at least 6 feet long and looked hungry! They are faster than you think, they can run up to 30 miles per hour! So I don’t risk getting eaten, I will take another path and always make sure to bird keeping a close look around me on the ground and not just looking up…
