Muscovy Duck
This is a photo of a pair of domesticated Muscovy Ducks that probably escaped from a farm. They are dumpy compared to the wild Muscovy Duck that are native to the American tropics, the wild ducks are wary of humans and can fly very fast. The domesticated ducks will come up to you looking for food and they aren’t know fly very far at all. When farmers buy them they should be clipping their wings so that they won’t fly away, but there are now a lot of escapees in various parts of the US. I had one male show up in our neighborhood lake several years ago during a bad storm and he has been hanging around with the Canada geese every since!
