This sandpiper is very, very small. Only around 6 inches or 15cm… and cute as a button!!!
They breed from Alaska and throughout all of northern Canada. In the winter you can find them throughout the southern US and into Mexico.
The Least Sandpiper is the smallest member of the sandpiper family.
They eat tiny crustaceans, snails and insects. Foraging around by slowly walking around picking up tiny food from the ground or surface of the water.
